Full course description

Many ordinary Americans believe that it is other people's responsibility to manage their nest eggs and retirement funds—your employer may have a managed 401k; the government manages your social security for you, to cite two examples.  However, the majority of Americans handle much more of their own money each week and month themselves than is going into those managed funds.  It is critical to have basic financial literacy in doing so.  This short course will introduce the kitchen metaphor and a cookbook with simple recipes to suggest that you can do a lot on your own with the money you manage, including even putting some of it in places like the stock market.
